Coating Technologies: Beyond Aesthetics

Surface coating in metal accessories is not merely a visual preference. The thickness, chemical composition, and application method of a coating directly determines the product's corrosion lifespan, chemical compatibility with fabric, and end-user experience.

Dikmen Metal applies gold, nickel, antique brass, black nickel, oxidized copper, and chrome coatings on its in-house galvanic coating line. Each coating type is applied in different chemical baths; the product passes through this process gradually, with each stage monitored.

Salt spray testing is the primary reference for measuring coating quality. Most European buyers require at least 24 to 48 hours of resistance. Dikmen Metal coatings consistently pass this threshold in standard tests.

Another critical issue is REACH regulation compliance. Under the European Union's chemical substance regulation, strict limits exist for cadmium, lead, and nickel release. All of Dikmen Metal's coating processes are carried out with chemicals compliant with this regulation, and test records are kept for each production batch.

In terms of seasonal trends, matte surfaces, distressed effects, and two-tone combinations are prominent in the 2025-2026 period. These special surface treatments are developed and applied at Dikmen Metal.
